What is Easter?

Introduction

Easter is a beautiful holiday celebrated on the Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox. Many children go outside to enjoy the fresh air and to play fun games such as an Easter scavenger hunt. But have you ever wondered why we celebrate Easter? Why do we celebrate it on a Sunday? Who thought of the idea of Easter? Why? In this blog, you will find the answers to all of these questions, along with some fun facts to go with it. Did you know that Easter can also be called Resurrection Sunday or the Pascha?

What is Easter?

Easter is the holiday/festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. According to www.dictionary.com "An annual Christian festival in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, observed on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox, as calculated according to tables based in Western churches on the Gregorian calendar and in Orthodox churches on the Julian calendar." So, when Jesus returned from the dead, the Christians were overjoyed. That's why they created the holiday/festival Easter.

Why Do We Have Bunnies in Easter?

If Easter is all about the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, then why do we have things like Easter eggs or Easter bunnies? Well, you're about to find out. According to www.wikipedia.com "The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a fantasy character depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the Easter Hare originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behaviour at the start of the season of Easter tide.[1] The Easter Bunny is sometimes depicted with clothes. In legend, the creature carries colored eggs in his basket, candy and sometimes also toys to the homes of children, and as such shows similarities to Santa Claus.

Conclusion

In summation, the holiday Easter was created to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. On Easter, kids go around playing outside in the warm fresh air, having scavenger hunts, and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. There is also something called the Easter bunny. He can also be called the Easter Rabbit or the Easter Hare. He is like our famous Santa Claus. This is because the Easter Bunny finds out if a child is good or bad, then gives him gifts such as candy, colored eggs, or sometimes toys accordingly.

A New Generation...... The iPhone 6

Introduction

Remember the iPhone 5s? Yeah, that's old news. That's why Apple has started designing something absolutely mind-blowing. The iPhone 6! This is going to be a new generation, the only one of its kind. In fact, this may be the start to the world of new technology. This new phone has a much larger screen, which will help increase how clear the phone will be. It will also be larger in length, a slimmer in width. This be the perfect size for the average human hand. Apple has many ideas for this fantastic phone, and Samsung will have to think of something amazing if they even want to compare against this phone!

Appearance

The iPhone 6 is bigger, stronger, and more technologically updated. With a larger screen, slimmer width, and more updates, this will spark an age of new technology. According to www.techradar.com "This phone has a Bezel-free display, which is the first of its kind. It also has a large 4.7 inch retina display, unlike the iPhone 5, which only had a 4 inch retina display. The iPhone 6 also 1080 times 1920 pixels. And, its only 5.5 mm thick, making it the world's slimmest smartphone.

My Opinion

I believe that the iPhone 6 is a marvelous piece of technology, and I would love to get it. Who would want to miss a 4.7 inch retina display! And imagine how clear the screen would be with 1080 times 1920 pixels. It would be crystal clear! And since it is the world's slimmest smartphone, it would fit right into my hand. That would be the perfect size for any person's hand. In fact, this phone is so good that the owner doesn't even have to do anything. All they have to do is touch the screen, nothing else.

Comment and Question

Comment- I really hope to buy the iPhone 6 after researching all this information
Question- Do you think Samsung will think of something fast before the iPhone 6 takes over? Why?

Robert Frost

Introduction

Robert Frost has created many of America's famous poems. Born in March 26, 1874, in San Francisco, California to a journalist, he quickly grew up. When his father died, his mother decided to move across the country to Lawrence, Massachusetts. When Frost graduated from high school, he decided to grow up in the city. When he married his wife, Elinor Miriam White, he started producing the famous poems we now know him for. His first poem, "My Butterfly. An Elegy" was worth $15($409 today)! But how does Frost write these magnificent and inspiring poems. Well, he gets his ideas from his association with rural life. Since he worked on a farm for nine years, he knows everything about how rural life is, how it looks like, how it smells, and what it feels like living there. He is mainly inspired by this and writes his poems based on the rural life he once lived on. Did you know that Robert Frost attended Harvard University, but left voluntarily due to an illness? In fact, when he proposed Elinor, she said no because she wanted to finish college.

His Poems

A Question

A voice said, Look me in the stars
And tell me truly, men of earth,
If all the soul-and-body scars
Were not too much to pay for birth.

Robert Frost

This was a brilliant poem by Robert Frost called "A Question." I think the theme of the poem is that you will always have questions, and you should never stop wondering. This poem stuck out to me and I chose it because this poem describes me. I am a boy who always has questions, and I am always curious. I relate to this poem because I have experienced the feeling of always having endless questions, and I want answers right away. I always have the feeling of having so many questions just stuck in head, roaming around. I believe that the poet was a happy and curious person as well, like me. I think this because he is writing a poem on a question, so he is probably just writing his question onto a sheet of paper in the form of a poem.

Why Are His Poems So Good?

What makes Frost's poems so good? Well, in my opinion, I think it is the way he writes them. In the poem "A Question" there are many essential parts that make his poem so good. Rhyme scheme is one of the essential parts that he includes in his poem. His rhyme scheme is ABAB. This is because stars in the first line and scars in the third line rhyme. And earth in the second line and birth in the fourth line rhyme. But how do these affect the poem. Well, it makes the poem more interesting and it adds a little bit of variety to the poem. If this was just a regular poem, then the rhyme scheme wouldn't have made a difference, and it would just be a regular paragraph, no variety or anything.
