So, when Jesus returned from the dead, the Christians were overjoyed. That's why they created the holiday/festival Easter.
Why Do We Have Bunnies in Easter?
If Easter is all about the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, then why do we have things like Easter eggs or Easter bunnies? Well, you're about to find out. In legend, the creature carries colored eggs in his basket, candy and sometimes also toys to the homes of children, and as such shows similarities to Santa Claus.
