Boom! Crash! Flash!

Introduction

Remember the lightning storms you see during a thunderstorm? They are very loud and destructive, but have you ever wondered what causes them? In this blog, I will explain to you how these bolts of destruction form, and all the chaos they cause. But have you ever wondered what lightning is? Or how these brilliant streaks of light are formed? Or what the effects are of lightning? Well, lightning is a really big electrostatic charge that has been released. It is very powerful, and can easily kill a human. It can also cause lots and lots of damage to property.

How Is It Formed

Lightning is super powerful electrostatic charge. But how is a giant electrostatic charge like lightning formed. Well, there has to be specific conditions for lightning. Lightning is formed only when there is moisture in the air. Positive and negative charges keep on attacking each other. As you all know, the structure for water is H2O. Then, another oxygen molecule tries to join the H2O. When the oxygen molecule tries to join the hydrogen(H part of H2O) they have a repel each other. This repel is really big. In fact, the repel is so big, that it causes a spark. It also makes a really loud sound. This spark causes the lightning part, and the sound is what causes the loud thunder.

What Are Its Effects?

Lightning is extremely powerful. And it is so strong that it can power a whole house for an entire week! But lightning also has some negative effects. In fact, very negative effects. Lightning can set a tree on fire, and leave it to burn to ashes. Lightning can also destroy a whole house, and leave its family to be homeless. Sadly, lightning can also kill humans. There have been many times over the years where people have been killed, or at least gravely wounded by being struck by lightning. Did you know that there was a man who got struck lightning 7 times? Can you believe that?

Conclusion

In summation, lightning is one of nature's most powerful things. Lightning has lots of power, which unfortunately, can also have some negative effects. Lightning has killed many people in the past, and also destroyed many homes. Lightning forms when the opposites, like positive and negative attack each other.
These attacks cause a spark, which causes the lightning. It also makes a sound, which causes the thunder. So as you can see, lightning is a very powerful part of nature.

Comment And Question

Comment-Lightning has struck a man 7 times! Can you believe that?!

A dragon is very powerful legendary and mythical creature. There are two dragons that distinctly relate to 2 cultures, the European dragon and the Chinese dragon. There are some characteristics that are common to all Dragons as in all have scales and a tail, those too might differ slightly but are common. We all know of the common western dragon with 4 legs, tail, scales and sometimes horns, spikes and barbs. Not all western dragons have wings, but most do. They come in different colors depending on their species, habitat and clan. . It's uncommon you'll find Blue dragons in a desert.".

Symbolism

The Chinese dragon, as I said before, is thought to be a powerful creature with auspicious powers. These great powers make people think highly of the Chinese dragon. People in China think of the Chinese dragon as a great and powerful creature with immense strength. People in China also compare smart and intelligent people with the Chinese dragon. This shows that the people who have been compared with the Chinese dragon are smart and are given high respect. Human's Greatest Fear....Snakes

Introduction To Snakes

Snakes are , in many cases, dangerous limbless reptiles that are ready to strike at any given moment. However, not all snakes are dangerous.  In fact, some snakes are actually helpful to us. They eat many unwanted bugs , insects, and rodents. We also make shoes and other clothing from snake skins. Did you know that there are over 2500 species of snakes? And out of those any snakes, only a few are poisonous. But don't take snakes lightly. One bite of a venomous snake can actually kill a human.

Where Do They Live?

Snakes everywhere from the harsh, hot deserts to the icy cold mountain tops. In fact, snakes live on every single except Antarctica! They are made for this type of weather. Some snakes have thick skin and live in burrows. This is to protect them from the icy cold water. But, some snakes have a thin layer of skin and sleep under the shade of a bush. This is because they need a little shade to cool them off from the steaming hot weather of a desert.

Poisonous Snakes

Out of over 2500 snakes, only about a mere 400 are poisonous. However, some of these 400 are proven to be fatal to humans. Only one bite can painfully kill a human. However, nearly 85% of snakes are nonpoisonous. These nonpoisonous snakes can cause some pain when they bite, but they will not kill. So do not worry, these snakes won't kill you.

Conclusion

In summation, there are many types of snakes out there. They live in various different places like in deserts or forests. But, they are also suited for that life. For example, snakes who live in the cold have thick skin and live in burrows to protect them from the cold. In addition, there are more than 2500 species of snakes in the world. But, some snakes are poisonous. In fact, one bite of a poisonous snake can kill a human if not treated properly. But 85% of snakes in the world are not poisonous. So, do not worry, but be watchful and careful.

A Question and Comment

Question-Have you ever encountered a snake? How did it feel? If not, then how would you feel?

Comment-I think and prefer to stay away from all snakes at all times. After all, I don't want to be bitten by a snake.

Scary, isn't it?

Is it OK To Lie?

Stretching The Truth

Have you ever "stretched the truth"? Maybe when your grandma gives you a sweater that says" I Wuv Bunnies" and you pretended to like it. Wait, hold on. Aren't you lying? And isn't lying... wrong. Well, experts say that everyone lies. But sometimes, is it OK to lie? To be courteous or polite? Many experts say that even the smallest fib can lead you to become a big liar. However, I think that sometimes, it is OK to lie because the other person might react in an unhappy way if you don't, people who tell polite lies are happier the those who tell the cold, hard truth, and lying in a polite manner can help someone.

How Do They React

Everyone knows that lying is bad. But in my opinion, I think its OK to lie when you are being polite. That's because if you don't lie when someone gives you a horrible Christmas present, and you tell them that I hate it, think of how badly their feelings will be hurt. They could be mentally, or even physically hurt for days or weeks. That could even damage your relationship. They could stop talking to you or try to avoid you. And instead of going through all that trouble, I think it would be better to just politely lie.

Happiness

Did you know that people who tell polite lies in courtesy are happier than the ones who just blurt out the cold hard truth. In fact, studies show that the people who tell little tiny polite lies are happier than the ones who tell the cold truth. This shows that if you politely lie out of courtesy, than you would happier in terms of relationship. Nobody would be mad at you for not liking their gift, and everyone is happy. On he other hand, if you decide to blurt out the cold truth, than you probably won't have a good relationship with your family. Relatives could try to avoid you, and you would sad and lonely. According to the article"Is IT OK to Lie" they say"Studies show that people who tell polite white lies are happier and more popular than those who insist on the brutal truth."

To Wrap It Up

In summation, I believe that we should tell polite lies out of courtesy instead of telling the cold hard truth. People who tell little lies are much happier than those who straight away tell the cold and hard truth. In addition, suppose you tell the truth to your grandma the you don't like the shirt she gave you. Think on how badly she will feel. She will be heart-broken. She may even start avoiding you or won't give you any presents anymore. So instead, I would just politely lie.

A Challenge For You

Think of a time when you lied. Was that the necessary time to lie or not? Why?

A World Legend.... Lionel Messi

Introduction

Lionel Andres Messi is an Argentine soccer player who serves as the captain of the national team Argentina, and plays on the Spanish club team FC Barcelona (FC stands for Football Club). He is considered to be the world's best soccer player. He was born in Argentina to parents Jorge Horácio Messi, a factory steel worker, and Celia María Cuccittini, a part-time cleaner. He also had two older brothers, Rodrigo and Matias, and one sister named Maria Sol. When he was 5 years old, he started playing for a local club coached by his father. However, at the age of 11, Messi was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficieny. This caused his growth to stop, which made him smaller than the other kids his age. Since his parents could not pay for his treatment, they looked for football clubs that were willing to take him and pay for his treatment. Finally, the sport director of FC Barcelona, Carles Rexach agreed to let Messi in. Messi and his family moved to Barcelona, where Messi enrolled in the club's youth academy. Messi's soccer career had begun.

Quotes From the Legend

The day you think there is no improvements to be made is a sad one for any player.
-Lionel Messi

I think this quote means that nobody is perfect. There are chances for improvement everywhere, and especially in sports. No matter how good you think are in soccer, you can always get better. And I think the Messi is saying that when you stop trying to improve, you will never reach your full potential.

In football as in watchmaking, talent and elegance mean nothing without rigour and precision.
-Lionel Messi

I think this quote means that if there are no obstacles in your way, you haven't tried anything new. That's because all the famous people have had obstacles along their way. Also, I think that means the more obstacles along the way, the bigger the triumph.

You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it.
-Lionel Messi

I think this quote means that if you want to achieve something big, there will be many obstacles trying to stop you. With every good thing comes a bad thing.

Messi's Accomplishments

Lionel Messi has accomplished many things. One thing he accomplished was the amount of trophies he earned.  According to Wikipedia "He won four FIFA/Ballons d'Or, all of which he won consecutively, as well as the first to win three European Golden Shoe awards. Messi has won six La Ligas, two Copas del Rey, five Supercopas de España, three UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and two Club World Cups." I think the way these accomplishments have inspired me is if I want to get a lot of trophies and fame like Messi, I'm going to have to really hard towards it just like Messi did and still does. This accomplishment made me respect this person because these awards prove how hard he worked day and night to be the great footballer he is today. Another thing Messi accomplished is the many reccords he broke, one being Messi was the youngest player to score 200 La Liga goals. The way these records and accomplishments inspired me is if I don't have time to practice whatever I love doing, I have to carve out time for that thing. Messi also had to carve out lots and lots of time for soccer out of his own time, and that's what makes me respect Messi a lot too. These are two of the many things Messi accomplished, and these are two of the many things that inspired me and made me respect him so much.

B-I-N-G-O!

Introduction

Have you ever played the game Bingo? Bingo is a fascinating game that is originated from a lottery game called “Lo Gioco del Lotto d’Italia” which was played in the 1500's in Italy, that is similar to Bingo. This lottery game spread all over Europe, and soon enough, many countries started games of their own that was just like  “Lo Gioco del Lotto d’Italia”. Many of the lottery games that started after Italy's lottery game included items such as playing cards. In the late 1920's, a famous New York toy salesman named Edwin S. Lowe saw a game at a carnival called "beano". He brought the game to his friends, and one of his friends accidentally yelled bingo, instead of beano. And from that time on, the game was known as Lowe's Bingo. Today, millions of people play Bingo in basements to large hall which seat thousands. Some people play for fun, while others play for money. Bingo is still the same, fascinating, exciting, sensational game as it was when it was first invented.

My Opinion

In my opinion, the game of Bingo is a fascinating game for all ages. I think this because because it is such an interesting game, and millions of people play it everyday. It is played in many places like in school for educational purposes. In fact, I played it a couple of times in my school. This proves that Bingo has spread all over the country. And I like all the excitement in Bingo when you're like "Oooh, so close". But I just like playing the game for fun. This is why I like playing Bingo.

Question to You

What is your opinion on Bingo? Why?

What Is Your Favorite Mascot?

Introduction

You have probably seen a mascot maybe in a high school or college basketball game. Mascots are animals or objects that people use to represent them. Mascots have actually been thought to bring good luck. In fact, in French, the word "mascot" means something that brings good luck to a place(home). Some mascots are used to represent teams, like the Denver Broncos have a white bronco horse named Miles. But not all mascots have to do with the team. In fact, some teams, like the Houston Rockets's Clutch the Bear, have mascots that have absolutely nothing to do with their team.

My Opinion

My favorite mascot is Miles, from the Denver Broncos. I like this mascot because it is related to the team, Denver Broncos. Miles is a white bronco, and I also like it because it gives the audience something to look at besides the game while the Broncos are playing, like any other mascot. I really don't like any other mascots because some of them have nothing too do with the team, which I don't understand. And also, some are them from teams I hate. Plus, the white bronco lifts the spirit of the audience and the Broncos team when the Broncos are losing.  This is why I like the Broncos.

A Question to You

Many people have different opinions about which mascot is the best, and which team is the best. Which mascot do you think is the best in terms of appearance, performance, and creativity?
